The setting is a dinner table at an international food conference! There are food journalists, gastronomists, gourmets – good taste and not so much. This astonishing soirée will bring culinary twists and turns dancing before us, retelling the shady gastronomic history of Turku, and with a slurry of passionate words and dance about food. The birth of the brined groat sausage, laukkamakkara – could this have been prevented?
A culinary theatre experience by Johanna Keinänen and Liisa Ruuskanen will reveal the kitchen nightmares within the Turkus’s culinary history. This dinner and show is an excellent choice for a Christmas party event. Performances take place in November and December.
The menu for the performances is curated by Arttu Parviainen (Nahkurin Kellari and Vanha Talli), who won gold at the 2024 IKA Culinary Olympics as part of the Finnish national culinary team.
Menu options: containing meat or vegan. Both menus are gluten-free and lactose-free. Other food allergies must be reported via email to info@aurinkobaletti.fi at least one week before the performance.

- Artichoke gazpacho, artichoke crisps, caramelized artichoke puree, herbs and sage-arugula oil
- Wallenberg’s steak of chicken, lentil and vegetable roast, herbs and herb mayonnaise
- Spicy moist date cake, quince, vanilla-flavoured sea buckthorn, sea buckthorn jelly and chervil
