Risto Räppääjä ja Nuudelipää – An Inspiring Experience for Schools and Day Care Groups

 

AB Dance Company (Aurinkobaletti) is offering lower secondary schoolchildren and children in day care an exciting and fascinating experience in the world of fairytales and dance. Risto Räppääjä ja Nuudelipää is an excellent piece for children in day care and primary schools. The performances are organised in AB Dance Company’s theatre.

 

AB Dance Company’s dance piece Risto Räppääjä ja Nuudelipää (Ricky Rapper and Noodlehead) will be a part of the City of Turku’s Culture Path programme (Elämyspolku) 7.−15.5.2026. for 3rd and 5th graders in Turku €12 per pupil. The performances are also an excellent choice for other primary school and kindergarten groups from Turku and the surrounding areas. Showtime will start at 10.00 and the performance will be around 55 minutes long. Teachers and other adults may come to our performances with their pupils free-of-charge. After the performance, the artists will host a short discussion with the audience. Orders must be placed no later than two weeks before the performance.

 

Risto Räppääjä ja Nuudelipää

A sweet love letter written by Risto Räppääjä’s aunt Rauha winds up in the wrong hands. After that, a series of misunderstandings and blunders begin, and the new neighbouring girl Nelli and her cat Alpo will also get entangled in the mess! Everything that happens before it all gets cleared up will be seen in the show.

This AB Dance Company production is for the whole family! It shows how the friendship between Risto Räppääjä and Nelli Nuudelipää all started. The central theme of the story is friendship and how significant it is to feel accepted and important.

This performance, choreographed by Marjaterttu Willman, directed by Tiina and Sinikka Nopola, and based on the play Risto Räppääjä ja Nuudelipää is full of dance, mime and music!

This production has been adapted to the stage by Sinikka Nopola and Tiina Nopola, which was based on their book Risto Räppääjä ja Nuudelipää. The theme song composed by Iiro Rantala. Based on the stage play, the dance adaptation was executed by Marjaterttu Willman. The performance rights of the production is monitored by Nordic Drama Corner Oy.

Culture Path for 3rd and 5th Graders in Turku

The City of Turku Culture Path programme supports the goals connected to gaining transversal skills, and it is an advocate of phenomenon-based learning, multidisciplinary learning modules and also the content and objectives of school subjects. Through Culture Path, pupils get to work in learning environments where they will gain experiences with culture, the environment, sustainable development, physical exercise and entrepreneurship through, for example, going on trips and guided tours. Theatre is included in the programme for 3rd, 5th and 9th grade students.
