We all have an immense need to understand the world around us. Not only that, we also long to know what the meaning of life is. What are we really looking for, and can we find a connection to it? Where is the boundary between the visible and supernatural world?

In this AB Dance Company piece, the darkness of evening, the wind howling at every corner, and the flickering flame of a candle all set the stage for a surreal and comical dinner party, one that builds a bridge to the other side. You have been asked to sit at the table where the meal is served. Do you dare accept the invitation?

“This performance is a centuries-old, long-forgotten practice that opens doors to a higher consciousness and reality. Once a connection to the other side is established, we can then gain knowledge on life and its meaning – and by this, we mean truly concrete answers to these questions. And so Illallisvieraita serves as a kind of ancient oracle, one in which a group of dancers sweat to assure the audience’s wellbeing, immersing themselves in a modern dance piece that can undeniably be said to possess immense impact and significance. The show was inspired by the creator’s love of entertainment, and it is specially dedicated to the 70s/80s sitcom Soap.”
